As usual we make budgeting travel that we can afford. Then my fren's start booking the Airline promotion on Air Asia it was quite reasonable n cheap RM178 per/person (departure & return). So my fren's booking the flight ticket 1st. Then afterward we start goggling in place we should stay, nearest to place we want to visit and also eat (halal food). We started saving our own money for this trip since we all not that loaded. Myself managed to saving RM1500.00 ++ for this trip. We converted our money to USD managed get USD300 ++ balance of it we change to Cambodia Money - Riel
Info that we gather is:
Hotel Puncak : at Phnoh Penh is most Malaysian stay coz of easy find Halal Food. Reasonable price actually quite big room that we rent. (1D 1N) 1 Single Room : Double Bed.
8Room Guest House: at Siam Reap is very nice place with great surrounding an interior design nice too. (2D 2N) 1 Single Room : Double Bed (small compared to Puncak Hotel) but nice worthy It was worthy then what i could saw at Cambodia. Many thing experience i can gain trough this journey, about people, culture, history, arts, customs, human nature, religion's, political's impact, society.
Day of the trip : we all (4 of us: me, dino, ritz, m'roof) booking a cab from our Condo at Sunway in early 2am morning, because we all have to take the Sky Bus (at KL Sentral) to go to LCCT Airport. We arrived almost 3am so we take the earlier bus to LCCT was 3.15am.
So we hang around KL Sentral, i remember that we bought Maggi Mee in Cup in-case if there no halal food at Cambodia. I bought also some slice marble cake for breakfast. We took advantages to take a nap while Sky Bus went to LCCT Airport. We arrived around 4.45am something so we all hang out having breakfast 1st at Oldtown Cafe. Afterward we were cruising around looking 4 terminal departure, time to check-in. So we start to Wrapping our beg RM 10 per/beg.
[We all start arguing among ourselves coz the price is raise last time we go to Bandung, we wrap our beg is around RM6 per/beg. I said better wrap the beg just few RM** then loosing item RM**** being snoop by the staff at the airport it happened to our fren's at the time we went to Phuket last time. That give us shocked last time and it was hilarious incident that i cannot mention here! Quite embarrassing thing!]

Ritz Lepaking around!Moreover we almost slip off out departure call because bzz talking to each other. Finally we all take off to Cambodia trip is 1 hour 45 minute. It was so beautiful we see sunset in the sky.
Then the flight enter Cambodia Air Zone before landed we managed to snap few picture. Many places still covered with green areas not so sure it is paddy field or what?...

This is spectacular moment that we ever saw so nice scenery view from the air until the plane landed. Even picture cannot captured the moment how magnificent the view from our experienced, only can give some part of it. But i loved to shared with you out there through my blog.

We all decide take cab to the bus station cost USD10. We buy the bus ticket at the tourism counter. Almost missed our bus ride, we take the Paramount Express bus to go to Siam Reap. That cost us USD20 each person to go to Siam Reap.

The journey to Siam Reap take us about 6 hours. The journey so tiring long distance, the road condition remind me like Malaysia in early 80's / 90's. Anyway i do enjoyed coz got a chances to mingle around with other passenger it was hilarious. I asked them to teached me to count 1,2,3,4 ... goes on. Yet they tought that i asked what time is it?. We ended up in laughter to each others.

After 6 hour long journey we arrived at Siam Reap we finally check-in to our place Ei8ht Rooms Guest House. Such nice interior design inside out, worth staying their staff so friendly, we also hired driver from guest house driver easier to traveling and so helpful too..

After check-in at Ei8ht Rooms Guest House we directly asked the owner what nearby interesting place that we can go. He suggested us to go to Floating Village just nearby. FYI we used the guest house transport (driver) to go any place at Siam Reap, included Angkor Wat. But the rate charge depend on the distance of journey normally USD 10 -40 a trip.
TRIP TO FLOATING VILLAGE: cost about USD 10 per/person we have to take ticket to get a boat ride.
TIPS: tour guide sometimes so cunning seem like forcing all of you to donate to the orphange and poor people, we cannot donated as what we want? but they will suggested like buying books n stationary or food. Like us they tricks to buy noodle one whole large box cost us USD25 almost RM75++ (if at Carrefour i think around RM25 maybe). So beware of this, we felt so unhappy after he demand to buy few more boxes his reason coz not enough for orphange. We explained to him nicely we donated with what we can afford.

TRIP TO ANGKOR WAT : We wake up early having breakfast then direct to Angkor Wat. Firstly we got to buy the ticket to entered Angkot Wat. Angkor Wat it is so large place they said almost size the state of Kelantan (Malaysia). The ticket cost us about USD20 just a passed entry for one whole day. Once we arrived the attendend will asked for this ticket to entered Angkor Wat. They will punchole any side of the ticket. As showen it the picture below

WOW finally we arrived at destination so stunning view to see itself Angkor Wat infront of our eyes. Quite long journey to go the temple there is guard will asked about the ticket to entered Angkor Wat.
Tips: i dont prefer traveling to interesting place with agent coz they will limit our time to spent there. Anyway you could hired tour guide while you're walking in the Angkor Wat for us won't need we just read all the sign and explanation of the Angkor ruin there also completed info for us.
Futhermore we travel to another famous site is Angkor Tomb. Is where Angelina Jolie shoot movie Lara Croft : Tomb Raider. It is facanating to see with our own eye's. Here you can find so many "Apsara" figure carving in ancient face or lady on wall or stone. It was stunning view to see.
TRIP TO PHNOM PENH : We wake up early not having breakfast then direct to bus station kindda late. Thank God we make it on time before bus make trip to Phnom Penh, manage to bought some biscuits and mineral water for breakfast LOL. Anyway the bus much more comvinience compared the trip journey come to Siam Reap (air cond leaking every where). Took us 6 hour journey as before.
We already book the taxi driver which we take from the airport (we deal with him - at the time he sent us to the bus station from the airport we arrived - so make it easier for us to traveling). He sent us to Puncak Hotel at Phnom Penh, Puncak Hotel is popular for Malaysian tourist that came to Cambodia. Coz they provided halal food too. We check in 1st then we deal with the taxi driver to sent us to Killing Field (place death body found during Pol Pot Khmer Rouge Regime Rules Cambodia.
There few monument build in the middle of Phnom Penh, this on of them.
TRIP TO KILLING FIELD : This is place called Killing Field. We have to paid around 2 USD ticket to entered this place. Anyway we found most tourists not really paid attention read notice sign about that place. Sometimes we have to open shoes/ sliper to walked around tower building (where the sculls of death body were found arranged in there properly).
Tips: Paid attention to signage sometimes you cannot laugh just to show respect to dead's soul, open your shoes / slippers just beware of this small signage.
It was so sad to see such violance and touture that Pol Pot done to Khmer People just because revenge and political needs. There was several Pond found in the area fill with dead body's. The largest pond contained about 450 dead body's, some pond contained headless body's, naked dead body's, babies dead body's. We could even see some tooth and bones at the sand appeared because of the rain, revealed them from the sand.
From the signaged mentioned that baby head was smashed onto tree, or throwed on the air and shot buy riffle/gun so crueld give me tears emegined that place might be filled with screamed of baby, children, woman and men that being tourtured to death.
We also still can see the cloth they wear's at the time. just give us guss bump to the neck. remembering their soul might not rest peacefully. Especially seeing their bullets, bones and tooth in glass container. Then it started to rained. So we went to the Musuem is located near to Killing Field Tower, in there we could see many picture of detained prisoner's captured by Pol Pot Regime tortured to death.
We was luckly there coz they provide Telecast show about the Cambodia under era's of Pol Pot Regime rules Cambodia. Within only 3 year the City Of Cambodia become Ghost Town deserted all the people captured. Some was detained to be worker for paddy field, some was detained under policital ground against the Pol Pot consider rebalion they tourtured to death even few foreigner was victims too.
Note: this give me experience i never encounter before my opinion personally policital can bring harm to nation so choose ur leader wisely. Choose the one with kind hearted, caring to people surround them, person who loved peacefull and bring joy. Furhermore can constrained wars, arguement, dissagreement in moral ground even political and religious issued wisely. This kind of person should be your leader to your country/ nation.
I personally and strongly hope that there will never be people suffurred this way in this entired world. Pleased stop violence act, and started respect another human being no matter what races and culure they are.
From the show they showed us we found about the place called S21. It is actually school converted to prison for detained political prisoner under Pol Pot Regime. So we tell to the taxi driver to go to S21 quite long journey too, but it is worthy the money you spent.
TRIP TO GENOCIDE MUSEUM (TUOL SLENG) Former Office S.21 :
Created on orders of Pol Pot (Sa lut Sor), In April 17, 1975. Office 21 was called S-21 and designed for detention, interrogation, inhuman torture, and killing after confession from the detainees were received and documented.
Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum was opened on August 19, 1979 when Kampuchea People's Tribunal started the prosecution of "Democratic Kampuchea" leaders: Pol Pot, Ieng Sary, Khieve Samphorn... the former office S-21. covered the of 600 X 400 meters. Faces Sihanouk Blvd in the North, Mao Zetong Blvd on the south, Monivong Blvd on the east and street 163 on the west. The compound is surrounded by two rows of corrugated iron fence covered with dense barbed wire.
Previously the area hosted Toul Sleng Primary School and Toul Svay Prey High School, one more fence of double-row iron topped with barbed wire was erected circling the larger area stretching from street 113 on the east to street 350 on the west, from street 320 on the north to street 350 on the south.
This is place actually normal school converted to prison. There was cell inside each classes. Classes wall have hole as a door to penetrable from class to other classes without going out through the class main door. Each level consisted different type of building material to make cell.
1st level : cell made by bricks (we could see a new iron bars to hold the wall of the brick cell wall is fragile is being touch by visitor)
2nd level & upper: cell made by wooden panel.
In each classroom filled with picture of prisoner was detained there. We could we some of them badly beaten up, their body slash tortured them to gain information about rebalion against Pol Pot Regime. There was classed made for tortured to death with actual picture inside the victim smash with table or iron bullet toolbox casing so horrible. I just cannot emegined there are people would such horrible thing to another human being.
TRIP TO PHNOM PENH LANDMARK : We were taken to famous landmark at Phnom Penh City, it was nice view of Temple and facing the river. So many people there hangout with the wind breeze such pleasant evening spent time there.
GOING BACK TO MALAYSIA : OMG....We was panic in the early morning see our watch almost time departure so we were rushing packing, take bath etc. Then we realized that our time zone is early 1hour from Cambodia what a relief, we manage arrived on time
TIPS: we have to paid TAX USD25 the most expensive compared few place we go. So please beware of this taxes either included in airline ticket's coz we didn't aware of this. Thank God we still have enough money to settle the airport taxes.
